I just got a WiMAX connection through Clear wireless internet in Portland (www.clear.com) and I’ve spent the morning researching the ins and outs of WiMAX. I had a cable broadband connection previously and I didn’t like it at all. Now I can download movies and music superfast from anywhere I want. My sister told me that Clear was moving to her home town of Atlanta soon and I’m really glad. I think WiMAX is the future, and your article answered some of the questions that I had about it. Thanks!

We have recently deployed a wireless hotspot for a client by use of Cisco AP's with 15dbi Omni antennas. The hotspot is working perfectly but now our client is showing discontent with the location of the antennas and the fact that they are visible.

The central plaza for the tenants is between 6 3-10 story buildings and is roughly 40,000' open area where they are adding benches and tables for their patrons.

We mounted the antennas on the outside opposite corners of a building that is centralized in their complex. We also installed a 9dbi rubber duck antenna on the secondary antenna jack of the Cisco AP's. Within the complex, there are roughly 11 other wireless networks that we could identify.

Is there an antenna that would work inside the building that would allow the signal to extend beyond the concrete building they are mounted on if mounted on the inside? Our concern is that if we mounted the 15dbi Omni's, the signal would drown itself out bouncing of the interior walls.
